The JOY Café is located in the downtown area of Nogales, Sonora Mexico. We are committed to returning 100% of our profits to support our mission. Our mission is to empower orphaned children and their families by providing them with the resources necessary to achieve sustainability and independence. This mission will be achieved through the implementation of logistical, and educational systems. Our partners are the NANA Centro de Sueños who rescue, restore and reunite children with their families. www.nanaministry.org

Paul and Leo Verdugo have dedicated their lives to serving children on the streets, working with families to rescue, restore, and reunite them.
Leo grew up in an orphanages in Hermosillo and Imuris, Paul in Nogales, MX. Through their personal struggles, they have found each other and a calling to serve. Joy Café will be their place. You can help us make that dream come true.. |

WHY JOY COFFEE MATTERS
Often, kids in Mexico aging out of an orphanage, are totally unprepared for independent life, and they end up repeating destructive behaviors that were modeled for them in their earliest years.
Without family support and life skills, these kids often begin living on the streets and many end up in jail or become victims of organized crime. Our prayer is that Joy Café helps change their trajectory and that they would grow up to be leaders in their communities, homes, and places of employment.

One of the main goals of Joy Café is to prepare the orphan grads for employment, regardless of what job they choose to pursue. So, our team teaches kids the importance of showing up, working hard, and doing the job right. Lessons many of us naturally learned from our parents while growing up in a family environment.
